Mego’s Action Jackson was an imitator of GI Joe’s Adventure Team, and while the line didn’t survive too long, the body style and clothing concept went on to become one of the most successful types of action figures. Check out AJ today. Bold adventure is his game!

Now that’s a vintage “knock off”! Looking back, Mego seems a great fit for an action figure with removable gear, but it looks like they didn’t really set it up well (just buy AJ because he’s here!). The “Aussie Marine” (?) looks remarkably similar to Land Adventurer with a hat. Pretty groovy theme song, though. And I really want to rewatch that Carl Weathers movie now!
