We’re back again with more patent drawings from the wonderful Google Patent archive. And what could be more exciting to examine than the inner workings of the spring loaded mechanisms that collectors love so much? Plus it’s time to set clocks forward for springtime in (most of) the US. Hooray for lame date-related tie-in posts!
This item from Hasbro should be familiar to those who own the 1992 Fort America vehicle. The front of the tank/fort/Ninja Turtles knock-off featured a unique rapid-fire sequential missile launcher. Here we get a detailed view of how it works. Interesting? I think so.
Here's something I never expected to run across. I've been aware of Google's patent search for a while. It's an interesting thing to check out if you'd like to peek into the weird world of copyright. It all seems very esoteric to me, particularly the fact that many of these…
The internet never fails to bring up interesting historical tidbits about, well, everything. Basically the whole of human knowledge is at our fingertips. What does that mean for a fellow like me? It means I can search Google for toy patent drawings. Today I managed to dig up the MOBAT.…
I've been jonesing for a bit of Sunbow production art for several years. I never thought I'd be able to pick up any until recently, as the cels generally go for more cash than I'm willing to throw down. The closest I've come until recently was buying a few DIC…
Having owned this as a kid, I can say that the box looks cool, but the toy’s a piece of crap. Both regular and Super Sonic figures are great, but the two vehicles definitely sucked. Also, did you ever notice there’s not one Sonic Fighter pictured on the box? And while we’re on the subject, it’d be nice if we could just stop doing daylight savings finally.
Even studying the drawing, I’m not quite sure I understand the mechanism! I’ve seen some customized Fort Americas, and they’re still only marginally cool. The transforming feature was just a weird idea on this one.
