After a long, hard week it’s time to kick back and throw back a drink with Outback. This plastic tumbler came to me courtesy of Joe bud Page. I hadn’t heard of or seen this type of cup before Page showed me a group of them he’d picked up. Other members of the 1987 group of Joes were also part of this series. The cup is a little on the smaller size, and doesn’t feature any particular store markings, but I think it’s believed to have originated from Wal-Mart’s food court area. Remember when Wally world used to give a rat’s you-know-what about GI Joe? Yeah, me too. Guess I’ll fill this guy up with Dr. Pepper, buy a soft pretzel and bust out my exclusive desert themed Valor vs. Venom figures as a tribute to days gone by.
Outback is one of the great figures from the post-86 period. He's a pretty simply designed type of guy, with a basic t-shirt and camo pants. His head was where much of his personality stemmed. While there were plenty of previous Joes with facial hair, Outback sported a full-on mountain…
THIFI returns with an item that elicits back to school memories. I remember Mom and Dad taking me to get a new lunch box every year during grade school. My favorite was my original Star Wars box. I obtained this one many years later...
Outback is to me one of the most compelling figures of 1987, the year in which I stopped collecting GI Joes. Other interests began to grab my attention, and toys fell be the wayside. That's not to say that I wasn't impressed with my last childhood hurrah for the toy…
It’s cool that they recreated/painted-over the cardart image. It shows more effort than a cut & paste move. Falcon would also be a neat one to have, if they made one.
Could have been McDonald’s. I vaguely recall a period where the Kids Meals had Joe/Barbie toys.

This is the most gloriously awesome thing I have ever laid eyes on!!
Why does it say 1986 instead of 1987?
