Can you believe that after all these years of avoiding military-based toys, the Lego Group has released official GI Joe product? I don’t know what I thought I’d see first: the military angle or Lego buying Hasbro just so it could continue the legacy of GI Joe. Wow. I’m practically speechless. Anyway, enjoy a shot of the first reveal in the line, Snake Eyes.
Now some fans are probably upset that this isn’t the classic design. Snakes is instead sporting a version of the movie uniform, with the ’85 inspired visor and chest armor. I’m not too broken up about it, but I’m not sure about the lack of the trademark uzi. I can see these sets performing much better than Hasbro’s Kre-O, particularly with the marketing muscle of Lego behind it. Can’t wait to see more!
