Planet Comicon, Kansas City’s yearly comic book/pop culture convention is going on again in my hometown. I stopped in today to scope it out, and check out the GI Joe presence. Last year, I ran into members of The Finest, a GI Joe costuming club. This time, the group also had a table at the show. In attendance this time in terms of costumes were Flint and Buzzer.
The booth also had a few helmets on display, including Flash, Destro and a Crimson Guard. As a nice little throwback touch, there was also a free book of coloring pages for the kiddos. I would have asked for one myself, but I’d feel a little apprehensive as a grown man asking a Dreadnok for a coloring book.
For the past few years, I've covered Kansas City's Planet Comicon, and the appearances there of the GI Joe costuming club The Finest. Each year they've featured characters such as Flash, Major Bludd, Flint and Lady Jaye. This year, they've added a new element: a life-size playset. The Bivouac battle…
Kansas City's Planet Comicon wrapped up today, and GI Joe costuming club The Finest was in attendance again. Their setup and variation of costumes was the most impressive yet, featuring Sgt. Slaughter, the Marauders, Renegades, a Dreadnok, and a life-size Watchtower. Check out the video and pics for all the…
We were fortunate to be able to cover Kansas City's Planet Comicon for its fourth year in a larger venue. 2016 was even bigger than previous years, in terms of size and scope. Along with vendors, artists, writers and guests, there was a large contingent of cosplayers, including the GI…
I was there today. Saw these guys, pretty cool. The Con was awesome unless you were there for GI Joe. There was Nothing…well maybe a few vintage boxed items. But that’s it.
All you had to do was ask the nice Dreadnok for a coloring book – for your son. Remember, if you’re too old to ask for something, this also means you’re old enough to be caring for someone who’d want it.
As a businessman, I’m not sure Destro would be putting the Cobra logo on his own MARS badges. They’re his customers, after all. Pretty cool pictures.
Yesterday, i went to a Jeep muster with my Dad. I was cosplaying as my namesake but i didnt manage to get any footage of myself though.

Looks like Buzzer needs to cut back on the chocolate donuts and grape soda.:)
