Duke (2010 Resolute)

It’s no surprise that Duke could garner two figures from the short lived toy offerings based on the Resolute animation. The first figure, a single carded all purpose Resolute Duke, improved on some poseability problems from the initial 25th assortments. This one goes the route of an environment specific outfit, but I still like the overall appearance.

This figure has one of my favorite modern era head sculpts. Having a truly badass looking Duke visage is somewhat of a rarity, considering his smirking original. Other Dukes since have attempted to put a stern face on the Joes’ top seargeant, once even to unintentionally humorous effect. This one, however is all business.

Even though he’s a mish-mash of his previous Resolute version and the comic book arctic Snake Eyes, I like the tough as nails look and the interesting color scheme. I’ve always wanted an arctic Sunbow Duke, and though this isn’t it, the figure still manages to impress.

  • Nice figure! What’s the head gear under the chin? Is it a turtleneck? Is it the robo-cop look?

  • I didnt care too much for the Resolute cartoon. Sure it looked good but it seemed to lack everything else. I hated the snake eyes and stormshadow duel as it looked as though it was lifted from Dragon ball z and what was the deal with Flint and Duke? They both sounded like they were doing bad Batman impersonations.

  • I really like this head. I kind of wish the carded Duke had a head sculpt this great. It’s not bad by any means, but this one is just so great, I’d love to see it used more. It’s kind of surprising how well recycling old arctic parts and pairing them with the Resolute legs worked to make a good arctic Resolute Duke.

  • I’ve seen the head used for modern era Mirage customs.

I learned something a while ago–if you swap the places of the forearms on this and any other figure using Resolute Duke’s arms, you get better poseability and bending.

  • I agree, that is one of the best Duke head sculpts I’ve yet to see. The colors are great, too. They’re evenly distributed throughout, making for some nice contrasts. A neat, solid looking figure overall.

  • I think the hair looks way too yellow, but other than that, it’s an okay looking figure. It’s nice to see an arctic Duke.
