For my review, I decided to do something I’ve been working on for a while; my ARAH-themed Imperial Guard army. I’ve decided to use Squad 91 as it includes my namesake. Squad 91 is led by an officer (Red Star) and has two special weapon choices (Sci-Fi v2 with a plasma rifle) and Low Light v2 (with an autogun). Tracker is also armed with an inflatable raft which I guess can be used as a makeshift parachute in an emergency.
The group only consists of nine men as I haven’t decided who else to make the final member. The miniatures are made by using a mixture of Cadian, Catachan, Space Wolf and Empire kits. Painting them took some time as yellow is a real pest to use, especially if it’s Games Workshop’s.
By KansasBrawler When Hasbro created the Crimson Shadow Guard set during the end of the Valor Vs. Venom era, I was pretty unimpressed. It was just six Crimson Guards decked out in black and carrying ninja weapons for reasons that were never adequately explained in the filecard. I wasn’t really…
Here's an intriguing concept, personal bodyguards for Cobra Commander. I thought he already had them in the Crimson Guard? Anyway, this figure is a mashup in need of a little more mashing. The Range Viper head sculpt I find to be one of the oddest in the RAH line. Is…
Aside from O-ring figures, the one thing I've been missing in recent convention exclusive sets: new army builders. I know the club's propentsity for throwing in multiple new troops in a con set probably spoke more toward the expense of including six distinct molds vs. six copies of one mold than a desire…
@Cyko9
I use cheap kids brushes from the arts section in TRU. GW brushes are so crappy, i wont use them
@Troublemagnet
I also have 1/72 scale miniatures
I’ve also completed platoons 83, 85, 86, 87 and 88. All thother platoons are half complete
Fantastic work on those figures! I have enough trouble painting 3 3/4″ scale. You must have some nice brushes and a lot of patience!
Skymate looks terrific, Skymate! Also, include me in being impressed with your detailed paint work- 3/34 inch is the smallest I can manage
