Resolute Scarlett

By KansasBrawler I know Hasbro always takes a lot of grief from fans (myself included) for so vehemently sticking behind their “girl figures don’t sell” line when we question their decisions to make sought-after female characters like Zarana and Jinx convention exclusives. Unfortunately, for me, Resolute Scarlett does kind of prove their point. I really wanted to like this figure.

Scarlett (1997)

Only three out of the eight figures in the Stars and Stripes set were worth a darn to me. The rest were either ill-advised repaints or Hall of Fame stinkers (looking at you, Breaker). Stalker, Snake Eyes and Scarlett were acceptable remakes. Weird semi translucent plastic skin tone notwithstanding, I like the changed paint scheme here. Scarlett is more colorful

Spirit Iron-Knife (2005 Sigma 6)

I’ve said this before, but I think it bears repeating as many times as possible: the Sigma 6 years of GI Joe get undeserved short shrift. The common excuse for entertainments that fail often revolve around either the public at large not “getting it” or the product being ahead of its time. I think the latter applies in this case.
