Beachhead (2010 Resolute)

I never would have figured Beachhead for a turtleneck guy. I suppose it’s just part of the Resolute style. Both he and Stalker had the big collar thing happening. A few of the Resolute figures shared tooling, and honestly, it grated on me. The extended elbow pads and boot cuffs got real old, real quick. Familiarity breeds contempt, and by the time I’d opened the Resolute figure pack, I was sick of the look. Something about it just doesn’t get me too excited. It’s actually pretty similar to my reaction to the Resolute animation. I must not be the only collector who’s non-plussed by the sets, as they’re still readily available online at discounted prices.

One more thing, I’m no weapons expert, so maybe it’s based on reality and I’m totally out of line, but I don’t know what to think about the green colored Super Soaker rifle he’s sporting. When did the American armed forces start toting color-coordinated weapons?

  • A quite good Beachhead…

  • There are new modern weapons lately made of coloured plastic light materials.

  • I’m sick of those Duke Resolute legs. Charbroil, Kickstar.Airraid,Lift-Ticket and many others use the same legs. Habro being cheap again.

    • Lift-Ticket, and by extension Tomahawk, didn’t use the Resolute Duke legs. They used 25th Anniversary Mutt’s.

  • Is anyone sick of Beach-Head period? How many variations of the same Ranger in a ski-mask look can they do? Time to give some love to someone else, like Gung-Ho, who was just as popular.

  • Oh thank you Acer for the correction. I bet you feel SO much better now.

  • Acer, I feel stupid-because your right!

  • Beachhead has never caught my interest for some reason. He turned out of nowhere in the cartoon as one of the team’s head honchos along with Hawk, Duke, Flint and Slaughter. I was okay with him in that capacity, especially how he rubbed Flint the wrong way from the start and I was hoping they’d brawl eventually, but instead guys like Duke were written off the canvas as a result of BH’s field command appearances. (Although I didn’t mind that much, either!) The comic portrayed him as just another regular team member. As for his plastic persona, I never got the figure as a kid and the whole angry masked look reminded me of the various Cobra troops for some reason. Yet, most people dig him, so there you go.
