Albert “Alpine” Pine (2014 Kre-O)
I am still impressed that so many characters were possible with the limited number of parts available within the Kre-O universe. From the simplest, like Rock N Roll, to the elaborate like Nemesis Enforcer, the Hasbro team managed to get the most bang for their limited bucks.
Alpine was a figure I’d hoped to see before the line ran its course, especially after we received his best bud Bazooka in one of the vehicle sets. I was a bit worried until I saw him announced as part of blind bag wave, as my mind went back to the days of DVD Battle Packs, and the hunt for his modern figure. Not fun. For the most part, the Kreons have been pleasantly easy to find.
Alpine works because of both his simplified accessories and his spot-on paint job. I was a bit surprised that another grapple wasn’t included to attach to his rifle, but that’s easily remedied with a dip into the extra Kre-O parts bin. While I’ve yet to thread and tie the included string from his pick (borrowed from a ninja) to his grappling hook, I probably will eventually. Gotta recreate those 1985 living room stairs mountaineering expeditions
I did the ol’ grapple-clip on the rifle, too. But my advice: give him a longer piece of string. The included one isn’t long enough to scale the Terror Drome, much less a couch.
Man, I miss these little guys already!
Can he lasoe the firebat?
Nice Alpine!
