The Power of Packaging: Breaker
Breaker is one of the more recognizable of the early 70s Joes. Thanks to his memorable card art, with its focus on his unique comm gear, he became an early favorite for many kids. I always associated him with the RAM cycle, since he was pictures on its box art. Are there any other Joes you associate with vehicles because of packaging?
”Breaker.One of the original,of the 1982 G. I. Joe 3 3/4 line.Nothing can beat the best.”
Breaker was my first Joe figure. I got the RAM the day before at my birthday party. One kid who was sick dropped by and gave me my present: Breaker. I was so excited because my brother didn’t have a Breaker figure and he was the “driver” for the RAM.
SA Breaker was one of my first 5 Joes on Christmas morning 1984.
I associate Firefly with the Night Landing & Alpine with the SnowCat – both due to their box art.
Early 70’s Joe? It’s too bad that there is no photo of the back of the swivel arms version’s card. I have always wondered why was Breaker drawn without facial hair on his card. To me the Triple T will always be Sgt. Slaughter’s vehicle. So I do not understand why was there a Night Force version of it with a different name, and without a Sgt. Slaughter Night Force repaint. I know that I can always make a custom, but still, I would have preferred an official one from Hasbro made back then. As a matter of fact, I would be cool with them making an o-ring repaint today.
Apparently there were plans to give Breaker a unique beardless head sculpt at some point, possible in 1983, but Hasbro didn’t go ahead with it. A few years ago, a prototype surfaced.
Thank you very much for that information. I appreciate that.

Snow job is sort of the default driver of the battle bear. Not sure about the mini tank, silver mirage or APC.
I always associated Joes with the vehicles they were pictured with in the catalogues (Although Storm Shadow V2 with the Swamp Masher always seemed weird)
