Scarlett (2004 Comic Pack)
Of all the versions of Scarlett to produce, they made her in a karate outfit that appeared in the opening pages of Marvel Comics issue #2. I was hoping for an arctic outfit along the lines of the Snake Eyes contained in the same comic pack. Given the limited parts reused for each of the packs, it’s not surprising that the Jinx mold was redone yet again. After all, there was really no female torso that would have passed for a parka.
When the comic packs were released, I was probably too jazzed about finally getting Marvel Comics based figures to notice the unsersized heads. I think the issue has been more noticeable to me since I started to take close up photos for the blog. Scarlett is probably the worst of the bunch, especially when compared to the Jinx body. Just look at the photo below. It’s comical. On the plus side, she’s not mannish like her original 1982-83 figures, and this figure could make for a nice training Jinx with a head swap.
Never Bring A Crossbow To A Karate Tournament.
Such an odd choice for a figure. Scarlett was in a mere couple of panels dressed like that, but it did give Hasbro a chance to go with the Jinx mold. I passed on this one until they finally got around to her classic outfit for the issue #9 pack.
Wow her head really is tiny.
Am i the only one who wanted a comic pack Outback who was only wearing shorts [like that Special Missions issue]?
I wonder where you would use a head like that for a custom….
I believe she appeared in the cartoon wearing a gi, too. Despite the size of the head not really going well with the rest of the body, I really like this figure.
@Acer: You might use it to make Selena, the slave girl from the first mini-series. Based on her chipmunk-like voice, I have to assume her head is shrinking.
@Captainswift
With blonde hair she would look like Quick Kicks girlfriend, Amber from “Laser in the night”
I’d rather have had an Arctic Scarlett, no matter how inaccurate it probably would’ve been.
It’s funny, because I saw the first photo and thought “Wow! Her head looks pretty good here.” The second photo balanced that out with reality. The comic pack figures could’ve used a little more creativity and probably budget.
Nice Scarlett!
