Quick Kick (2013 Kre-O)
Is it too soon to cover one of these again? I don’t care, because I’m too fascinated by them. Sorry folks. I’m sure the feeling will pass eventually and I’ll be back to the usual mix of the ridiculous and the sublime in a more familiar scale. For now though, it’s Yo Kre-O!
Quick Kick distills the essence of both the vintage figure and cartoon versions, from the headband and smirk, to the painted bare feet. I guess he can still traipse around barefoot in the Kreon arctic. There’s a sword, nunchaku and three shuriken as well, and the sword can store in his backpack. More importantly to me, he’s also equipped with a Frozen Fudgee Bar, probably the coolest nod to the Sunbow toon that I’ve seen in a GI Joe figure since Radioactive Snake Eyes.
I can’t wait to get me some of these. No sign of them up here yet though.
I think that Frozen Fudgee bar would be small enough to fit into the hands of regular Joe figures, AND be in-scale. Someone ought to do a pic of either the original Alpine, Bazooka, and Quick Kick holding these, or the 25th Anniversary versions.
For many years, my only Joe cartoon was a copy of LASER IN THE NIGHT. For nearly twenty years i hated QUICK KICK with a passion. Now i dont think he is taht bad. If they included the chocolate bar then why not a laser whip or a cosmic graffiti laser
I don’t collect Lego-like figures, but I gotta say that Frozen Fudgee Bar is impressive. The guys behind this line clearly did their homework and love the whole RAH universe.
Great little figure!
