GI Joe Costuming

I’ve seen fans dressed up as Cobras and Joes at San Diego Comicon and JoeCon, but hadn’t ever talked to anyone about the work that goes into making these costumes. Joe A Day visited Con X in Kansas City, MO this weekend and found members of the cobrasfinest.org costuming group in attendance. Check out Major Bludd, Lady Jaye and Firefly and learn a little about Joe costuming. It’s an interesting element of the fandom.

Con X is also a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, whose mission is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members.

  • I’m amazed by the sheer quality of Joe customing in recent years. The stuff I’ve seen is so awesome that it makes me wonder what these fans must have thought when Rise of Cobra first hit theaters.

If cosplayers can perform such outstanding jobs with Lucasfilm costumes why can’t Paramount do the same thing for G.I. Joe? Their wardrobe department has got nothing on these guys’ work.

  • Great cosplyers of the G.I.JOEs and COBRAs: I salute You all and I thank You!

  • Great interview, it was great to talk to you guys and thank you for including it on your blog so the fans of G.I. Joe and Cobra can see what we do. If it wasn’t for the fans, we wouldn’t have a reason to do this.

    COBRAAAAAA!!!!!
