Enemy Fan Boat (Geewunner.com)

Enemy Fan BoatAnother custom brick creation by Geewunner, the Enemy Fan Boat gives an impressively accurate depiction of the Cobra Water Moccasin to Cobra’s Kre-O forces. This is another solid build, in terms of style, fun and function. First off, as a build, it’s quite substantial. There’s no worry of the vehicle coming apart, even with little ones about. I should know, as my four-year old son Will, was not able to dismantle it while my back was turned. I can’t say the same for some of the official Kre-O designs out there. I’m looking at you, Serpent Armor.

The two aspects that I’m liking the most about Geewunner’s work so far are the accuracy and scale. The Kre-O version of the vehicle, included with the Thunderwave jet boat was…tiny, to say the least. With Copperhead in its cockpit, the poor fella looked like he’d hitched a ride on a kids’ amusement park ride. Oh, and it wasn’t green, either. What was the deal with that? The color and shape here feel right, and though some concessions had to be made for things like the fan, which has no vanes, it’s not a big deal. After all, this is a simplified brick universe.

Scale is another winning aspect of the build. In terms of scale alongside the Hasbro Kre-O line’s vehicles, this version is a monster in comparison. Copperhead has plenty of room inside to sit back and pilot without having to worry about being exposed to Joe gunfire–or laser fire, if you’re into the Sunbow thing.

By going bigger with the size, Geewunner has been able to work in more details and features like the ski-pedo, and even functional riding boards on the aft section. I’ve always wondered how wise it is to mount troopers in front of a giant, unguarded fan blade, but hey, Cobra Commander doesn’t always seem to follow OSHA workplace guidelines.

Stay tuned, as I’m planning on covering a different Geewunner creation once each week for the near future. The Enemy Fan Boat is currently sold out at his store, but you can still get many of his other creations, and he’s got some new and interesting other swamp-themed rides available (who could those be for?) Check them out at geewunner.com.
