Dice (2012)
by JD
Ahhh Dice and Slice, Cobra’s own Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, a former Night Creeper and a former Arashikage gone rogue. Killers for hire, assassins for the joy of it. Dice was always my favorite of the pair but what it boils down to is ya can’t have one without the other. They’re a buddy pair of psychopaths and that’s what makes them so much fun. Methinks they’re a more fun and more interesting pair of ninja commandos than Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow ever were.
I’ve been waiting a LONG time for a modern construction Dice figure… Yes I could have made my own long ago but no I held out for Hasbro to do it instead. Okay so it was the GI Joe Collector’s Club that finally gave it to us. But it’s about damn time I have him in my collection: it updates the Ninja Force figure effectively making it a 25th update but keeping it fresh with new details somehow. And he’s not orange-ly pigmented anymore thankfully. It is not flawless but neither are the majority of production figures. The FSS Dice fits the bill and it was worth the terminal waiting game. (I did make my own Slice after Hasbro give us all the resources to do it with and with minimal paint needed but I only did it because there was an official Dice figure on the horizon.)
Oh, somebody didn’t follow the gag order from the G.I. Joe Collectors Club.
But we’ll forgive you this time. 😉
Oops. Guess I’m in trouble now. 🙂
So let me try to boil down the recipe:
-Head is from the 2009 ROC Aqua-Viper officer
-Torso, upper legs, and knees are from the 2009 Resolute Comic Pack Storm Shadow (as are the Dice mask, bo staff, and axe)
-Arms and lower legs from the POC action feature Storm Shadow
-Claw and webgear from the 2008 Comic Pack Storm Shadow
I waited a few days to write it up… after the club acknowledged the whistle had been blown. 🙂
Nice to see that the Club figures are officially out. I got mine a couple of days ago but have yet to open the box.
Nice work!
