Cobra Commander (1988 Micro Figure)
Today I got a message from Dave of the Flag Points podcast. He said, “You should review a Joe micro figure!” Well, believe it or not, I don’t have any on hand. So he sent a pic. Seeing the tiny little guy in front of the original figure made me think of the old Marx toy soldiers (the progenitors of the action figure concept), and it also inspired me to attempt another haiku. Why? I don’t know. Enjoy.
Eighty-eight throwback.
Tiny Cobra Commander.
Articulation?
WOW! Thats awesome! I have never seen that before, what is it from?
Back in 1988-89, Hasbro did a little promotional gimmick where each single-carded figure (outside the Night Force and Tiger Force figures) came with a micro-figure of a character from the 1982-86 period.
Thanks! I might try to snag a few of these….they just seem like they would display well with thier 3 3/4 counterpart.
These guys harken back to action figures’ predecessors, lead soldiers and plastic army men. Which is why these pack-ins kinda defeated the purpose.
Nice way to homage some classic early toys, though.
They also did a small wave of “Micro-vehicles”:

I have Snake eyes micro figure!
At a toy show this last Saturday,I found a MOC Alley Viper with a minature Buzzer for 50 bucks.
Hasbro also did Transformers versions which were unpainted blobs of neon platic. Atleast the Joe micro figures were painted and in proportion
The Cobra Commander one was the only Micro Figure I ever had and it really was a neat little figure!
