1978 Simpsons Catalog Page: Hall of Fame Bad Guy Toys!
This catalog page from the Canadian Simpsons department store may not have much in the way of GI Joe content, but it more than makes up for it by including a group shot of some of my favorite 70s toy baddies. Imagine a world where Bionic Bigfoot, Stretch Monster, Terron and Darkon joined forces! It’s a 70s supergroup of bad guy toys! They would conquer the Earth faster than you could say polyester leisure suit.
That Wonder Woman looks like she would’ve been on a 1960’s comic book cover.
On the subject of Batman, my mother has a photo of her then-5 years old little brother in an Adam West Batman costume. Reminds me of Hank Venture
Love that badguy supergroup! And Viewmasters – they were our generation’s smartphone (aka “be quiet, kid”). I could flip through those reels over and over.
